A Quiet Day at the Quarry...

For December, it wasn't too cool out today...the sky was a nice overcast and there was a hint of a cool-front blowin' in. Hopefully, rain will be on the way because we so desperately need it. I was able to snap quite a few pics even though I was worried about the "gloomy" tone to them. It turned out pretty well and the sun even shined through a couple of times. Here's some I got.

Yesterday, I drove literally 10 seconds from my house and found this little piece of heaven on Earth...I love taking photos!!!

Mountain Top

I took this picture Sept. 10th, 2005 (Cody's Birthday and a long day of motorcycle touring took place). It is one of my favorite pics just because it is 'man vs. world'. I believe it captures the vastness of the Earth and how minuscule we are in comparison. Or maybe, how for this brief moment, he had a realization of how grand Mother Nature's greatness is and all that God has created above and below us was right there in front of him as if for the first time. Every time I look at this pic, I feel incredibly blessed. It takes me back to the earliest days of Brian and I dating and how he, while commandeering a motorcycle, loudly sang a song to me on our way back down the mountain (even over the growl of exhaust pipes). I'll never forget that day and how the sunshine felt on my face and the way Brian kept looking in the mirror at me and smiling with the cutest grin imaginable. Sweet memories...

Water Tower edit

Photoshop is GREAT! I love it... Here is my first non-existent rainbow created solely for this picture... It is pretty dreamy. I liked the turn-out for my first time trying. :)

TRIVIA: This is the same water tower used in the motion picture "The War" with Kevin Costner and Elijah Wood (1994).

Cody & Dylan (aka: Ketchup & Mustard)

Another fun day behind the lens. This time I had Cody and Dylan...which was a task and a whole lot of fun. Boys are harder to get to stand still than girls...(I'll take note of that for future reference) :) Here are a few of the ones I got...

Sweet little Kaydence

My beautiful niece Lauryn

July 14, 2007 Kaydence and Lauryn

I had so much fun yesterday. It was mostly cloudy skies with a nice breeze. I had two of the sweetest subjects and one surrogate subject...15 month-olds are busy little creatures! It turned out well for my first shoot with live models. :) It was a blast...
